Talking about fish spots is the most sought after gossip for the sims currently.
It's really annoying.

Can't get Vlad to tell me about vampires, but he will bore my sims with his fishing stories when he isn't autonomously fighting with them.

I have experienced this non-sequitur, as well. My Sims were at a Karaoke contest and the subject came up. Their sister 'found' a new fish type. It may have been a Goldfish (and I'm thinking what's new about that?). I agree it's totally random. I just dismiss it and go on, though.

I've experienced this too. It's a minor annoyance, but yes, I'd like it if this were fixed. I only have occasional sims who fish, let alone who want to talk about it.

It's very annoying. I would not mind if two sims with a certain fishing skill/interest shared fish secrets, but I don't like that my sims with no interest in fishing keep sharing facts about fish species that they never saw, not to say caught. They simply don't know the facts they are sharing... Even if the game won't work unless they share fish facts, I definitely don't need to be alarmed on the message wall each time someone learns a new fish specie.

Doesn't the message say that your Sim has "identified" and not "found" a new fish type? Anyway, I agree it is a lot of random fish talk - and a hot topic too, apparently, as Sims get really excited to discuss fish as if they had been fired up by an active Sim.

For good or bad, one of Sims 4's trademarks is the exaggeration of features.

I was excited when I heard they were improving fishing, but this is not an improvement. These pop-ups should have been kept to Sims who actually fish.

Once again the Sims team has taken a great idea and bashed us over the head with it until it's unwanted.
