Personally I didnt find it very difficult to overcome the initial bad relationship, I have a few fairy and spellcaster friends and one married couple, I only play my selfmade sims tho and dont really care about premades or townies, so usually I know what characteristics and interactions my sims like and that makes it pretty easy. Wouldnt expect any of my good sims to become friends with my evil sims anyway, fairy, spellcaster or whatever.
