Split Household Inventory/Take Furniture Upon Moving Sim Out?

Are there any work arounds, or any additions to the game that will allow us to send furniture with a young adult Sim who is moving out of the family home? (I’m pretty sure we weren’t able to as of a ...

As usual, there's a mod for that.

If you're not opposed to using mods, Scumbumbo's Packing Crates for TS4 lets you put any furniture into a special packing crate, which can then be stored in the sim's personal inventory. It works beautifully and you can find it here: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=557383
