I was wondering if others had this problem. I found my own solution for my game. I narrowed it down to placement.
For me this happens on any plant at random. First I reset the plant by right clicking. I have to reset twice. Once to get the Sim to stop spraying and again to reset the plant. If reset does not work then I figure the placement is messed up. It may be too close to another plant or on a weird angle. If I go into buy/build and move the plant to an open area the bugs either go away because they got sprayed or my Sim can spray without a problem.
I figure that some plants just need more space.
The last time it happened I had a lily in the corner of a fenced in garden with a fruit tree on the outside of the fence. There was no space between the lily and the tree just the fence. The lily wigged out with the infinite loop so I moved it and it was fine. The time before that it was a ufo plant in a planter box with 3 other plants in a row with 4 boxes in all. For some reason ufo plants don't like it in there unless it's on the outside of the end box. It was a homemade box made by my Sim.
This spray for bug infinite loop happens a lot in my game especially if I forget that I have the moo cheat enabled and move a plant and place it. I found out that trees need a least one space between them and another plant. Most other plants need a whole tile and can sit right next to another plant even in a corner if I angle the corner plant. I just need to remember trees need more space.
This may be a bug with seeds for some but for me MY SPRAY FOR BUGS INFINITE LOOP can be fixed by resetting the plant twice and/or moving the plant.
