Still so happy we got toddlers and infants in this game

I am not sure if the General discussion is the right place for this thread, but I am just so grateful for Maxis for adding the toddler and infant life stages in The Sims 4 in their respective patch updates in 2017 and 2023. This made my family play so much better, I also love playing with my best friend and I love how she always tends to make the top notch Infant with the best reward traits and all, I often love to create "superSims" in this game, if that makes any sense. It somehow feels rewarding and more exciting and even challenging, the way we have all these different lifestages in this game now, and packs like Parenthood and Growing Together made the family play much more challenging and rewarding with the new traits and aspirations. Thank you Maxis and Sims team <3 keep it up!
(would also love pre-teen/tween life stage in this game but I am very happy for what we already have, for now <3 High School Years is kind of underrated EP in my opinion, it did make teen life stage a lot better! <3 )
  • The game has come a long way!! I especially love the quirks they have added to infants and toddlers! They feel so true to life and they add a lot of character to those life stages while giving them more distinct personalities.

It could be really fun to see a tween life stage but I also think we are missing a more mature adult, middle-aged stage.

Nice to see love for them, I often end up with big familes can't help myself. On long I have my little ones a long time so I am used to the extra work. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to something betweeb tot and kid or something between teen and young adult or even young adult and adult. However now we have have such a wide variety of clothes sometimes it is nice to just do a good make over to diversify your age groups.

    Still need more stuff ?
  • They're a lot of work, especially twin infants, but I love them too. Infants bridge the gap between newborns and toddlers perfectly. The family feels complete now.

Me too I often play with big families but sometimes I end up becoming overwhelmed with them so I start a new save and start with 1 Sim or 2 Sims

@simgirl1010 Oh I understand how you would just start playing with Infants given the fact how this game with all of the DLC available is so huge and has so many features even I have yet to completely experience and try   but it is great though

@SweetieWright_84 Yes they are a LOT of work but recently I became more soft-minded/hearted at the fact that the younger life stages are so difficult but that makes them stand out from the later life stages in this game, it feels realistic in some sense. <3

@83bienchen yess they are awesome! Now the base game feels much better with all the life stages starting from Newborns, then Infants, Toddlers, Children, Teens, YAs, Adults, and Elders. <3
  • In my current save, Erik and Kayleigh had six children, closely set in their birth order. I've had a break from the infants and toddlers, but do I ever miss them. Thank you EA/Maxis. You listened, intently, to what we asked for and gave us these great life stages in spades. So very glad you did this and family play is just that much more rewarding. Thank you. Currently those six beautiful kids range from YA, four Teens and one Child, who won't be a child for much longer. Ho-hum.

I agree completely! The quirks were a great addition to add more personality to infants and toddlers with Growing Together!
Yes it could be fun indeed, but I agree we really need at least one more adult-centered life stage in between adult and elder! Would also be lovely if we may get strollers for infants and toddlers in a future pack (would have been perfect for Growing Together EP but hopefully a future pack will address them) and walk canes for elders <3
