Stopping sim buttons getting small? Help please!

Hi guys, I've noticed that once my household gets to more than about 5 sims, the buttons for the individual sims near the speed times (I'm not sure what to call it) get really small. In old games they...

I have a monitor with 1600 X 900 resolution, and my icons get way too small. Admittedly, I have bad eyes and I need new glasses, but they're so tiny it's uncomfortable. I do enjoy playing large households, but the tiny icons have got to go.
