Strangerville is spreading

I'd second this. In an absolutely new save (no mods or cc) the first time my sim was visiting a venue there was a bunch of possessed sims. I remember we were told we won't see anyone possessed in other worlds and until now this was true for me. Now I'll look closer for any signs that Strangerville stuff is out of control.

I'm glad I read this! I was contemplating buying Strangerville just to see what it was like. Absolutely not if this is happening. I'm a somewhat "realistic" player and I have an imagination of my own. The last thing I want is some weird developer-created storyline insinuating itself in the lives of my sims.

Have you tried to repair your game?

I haven’t seen any sign of Strangerville in my game lately. Even the sims living in Strangerville haven’t experienced the vines. Haven’t actively started the story in that save.

I’ve heard there’s been bugs related to Strangerville with what you’ve described included. You can probably find a report on this on Answers HQ.

I've never encountered these bugs, thank god! And I use both mods and CC.

To be honest, I'm a very realistic player and won't buy vampires and use mccc to get rid of all ghosts and aliens, I also only like my own storylines normally so I never play premade townies only sims I create, but for some reason I really really really love the strangerville pack haaha.

And from another comment I now suspect the "glitch" is because I have started the storyline with another Sim in this save file. It still shouldn't be happening though, this Sim is not related nor has he met any of the affected Sims and they do not live in Strangerville and haven't left their homes yet as they were newly created Sims so def. hadn't met anyone in Strangerville even in their hometown. Definitely a glitch but probably what triggered the glitch. It's my 2nd time going through the story because I loved it so much the first time haha!

@Thunderbat87 I have repaired it yes, but it's still happening. I'm not too concerned, I'll just have the Sims finish the story, I wanted to do it again anyways.

I've only played the StrangerVille scenario once. It was on my laptop. I did not import that version of my game to my gaming rig upstairs. However, I have refreshed my game Folder (upstairs) and did a repair prior to the refresh. I started a brand new game save, with a new version of my families, too. All is fresh. Suddenly, when my teen couple were out on a date, I found Tex Roswell and his wife wandering into the rustic bar & grille where my young couple decided to have a bite to eat. I posted pictures, even. Nobody from this game save has ventured into StrangerVille.

My other game save is also a brand new start. So, why am I seeing the inflicted Sims there? :open_mouth: Part of me doesn't mind, but then part of me does. Makes me wonder if the next GP is set to give us the 'tools' to contain the Outbreak!

I use two mods: MCCC and Road to Fame. However, for the entire time my now Global Superstar spent in the bar in StrangerVille, that game save has never been afflicted. Nor have I seen residence from StrangerVille walking around in that save. Go figure. I don't think it's the mods doing it.

I hope it doesn't happen in my game. It was fun for a little while seeing all those crazy sims in StrangerVille when I was playing through the story but even then it got old fast. I do not want it in other neighborhoods.

If any sim in a save is working on the story line, it's not a glitch to have these things happen. The game plays all households at the same time, even when you are only in one active household. So if you have 4 households, they all experience Christmas, even if you are only with Family C during Christmas. It's the same rules for the strangerville mystery. Even though Family B (example) is the one doing the mystery, it is happening in this saves universe, so it will transfer to all sims in the save until the mystery is solved.

ETA: Should clarify, non-active sims will not actually receive gifts, decorate, etc without your control. I'm saying they'll experience Christmas in the sense that they will live throughout that day. I guess a better example would have been...

Even if you only play family c during winter, all your sim family still experience winter.

I knew it affects all families but originally they said it wouldn't spread outside stranger Ville world so i figured all my sims in the world would get vines but not those in Willow Creek and windenburg
