- ncisGibbs_BOSS5 years agoSeasoned AceI think you would still need it. After the mission, there’s an option to revive the giant plant and choose another Sim to go through the mission again. You can choose the level of infection so you can start halfway if you wanted. I’ve not explored editing the base. I just leave it be after the mission.

I sure wish they'd let us. I mean, we manage to edit the police stations and hospitals without breaking them so they should trust us with this too. It's our game, after all. - DaWaterRat5 years agoSeasoned Ace

For every 100 players who can be trusted to remember to include whatever elements need to be included in the lab lot, there are 35 who can't and another15 who will come to the forums/twitter and complain loudly about how their game is "broken" and refuse to accept it's because they did something wrong, blaming the devs instead as if it's somehow the dev's fault that they can't follow directions.
Those 15 are why we can't have nice things.
(The other reason I think is so that people weren't spoiled in the plot line by going to rebuild the lot before playing. Though I do wish you could edit it after completing the storyline.)
Note all numbers are arbitrary for illustration purposes and don't actually reflect the proportions of players who can adjust a lot without breaking it. - Dang. Well, I guess that's that. I would really like to spruce up the place. It could use a better layout and more things. I get it, though. The whole town is so story driven.
- I'm not sure if you can use mods, but TwistedMexi had a couple for this: StrangervilleStoryToggle & StrangervilleLabBuildBuy
- @Harukotyan You rock! Thank you!!
- @Mstybl95 always welcome! We have so little worlds to my taste I'm always looking for more ways to claim as much ownership on them as possible in Sims 4. And Strangerville is not exception.

We can edit those? Agree that we should be able to do the lab, at least after completing the 'story'. - elliebreton5 years agoLegend

Yeah, and the scientist lab too - I forgot that one! (not to be confused with the Strangerville lab). You just wait until your sim has gone to the lot for their career and use the bb.enablefreebuild cheat and edit away! You can then save your edit in your library to plop down in different games. I have all three lots saved in my library (the hospital and police station I uploaded to gallery, but I use someone else's science lab) and if I ever start a new game I just plop them in. Same goes for the main lot in the magic realm, which I forget what it's called.
