I've seen a lot of speculation on what the weird affliction is that seems to have infected the gurus. Is it aliens? Witches? Zombie apocalypse? A cult? One thing i've only seen mentioned one other time was a post with an interesting newspaper article from the sims 3 that talks about a plane that was forced to land back in Strangetown due to two passengers showing early signs of something called Strangetown syndrome. If we are right about the next pack being set in Strangetown or having something to do with it, then I think this is our answer. I think all the weirdness is being caused by said Strangetown syndrome and not a new occult at all. Yeah I would love it too. One more thing to connect it to the previous games. :) I also have a theory on how Strangetown syndrome is spread. In the sims 2 , Bella Goth was abducted by aliens and the spaceship crash landed in Strangetown and caused a crater. What if something from that ship leaked in to the water supply and infected it and the gardens around it? That may explain the mentions of water and fruit in some of the gurus tweets. Sorry to sound like a conspiracy theorist but the Bella Goth/ Strangetown mystery is one of my favorite things from past sim games so I am loving all of this. :D

I would absolutely love this if it was the case. I am interested on how (if it is Strangetown symptom) would play out, since we get aliens in TS4 GTW.

I never played in that world either, it was the only sims 2 base game world that I didnt play with .. it gave me creeps and scares me, I used to think playing in that world will always get my sim abducted and get my males pregnant and I hated that..

And as you said we already have a desert world we need a new "forests" world where it actually snows and looks beautiful..

I think you're absolutely right! Plus, apparently there were trailers in Strangetown in console versions of the Sims2!

Maybe everyone living in this new town is like this (weird facial expressions and movements) AKA animations gone bad? Roll with it? lol And they stay this way until they consume some sort of fruit?
