I played my game yesterday and today wrote up what happened. Currently, Erik hasn't licensed any more songs to get nominated. I feel as if I'm in a holding pattern. I do wish to play my game, but I know I will roll things back to before their first child is born, so I can take full advantage of the Infants when they drop. In the meantime, do I just roll back farther so I can spend time playing without posting? I really don't know what to do. I suppose I could restart my ancestral game save. Haven't played that one in an eternity, or so it feels.I was wrong when I suggested the New Year would be here faster than we knew it. But, that was before the announcement truly sunk in. I have a form of PEPS, the Syndrome, without the EP, at least.We've already lost two wonderful storytellers over at the WHIYGT thread. I hate to be a third one that goes A.W.O.L. If I don't play I have nothing to write about and post. If I roll back too far, it's old territory, so again nothing to post of relevance. If I stop writing and posting then I feel as if I'm letting people down. If I try to play forward, then I'll have way more to catch up on after I roll back.OR, and this just now hit me. I could simply pick things back up before their third child comes along, I guess. Problem is, I don't believe we can stop the babies from becoming Toddlers. Even with aging off, unless I'm mistaken. So, no matter what I do, if I play forward there's going to be a much larger gap of time between the children than I intend. There just simply is no easy answer or remedy.The last time I tried to do what I called a Flashback save, got away from me inasmuch as I decided instead of trying to link things to the original save, I would just rename the Flashback to the Main Save RESET. I had thought I could roll back to play with the new infant life stage, and let the existing posts stand, maybe do a small augmentation with the expected new gameplay. If you want to hold off on playing your main save until the new infants are added, but still want to do story telling with Erik, you could do a “What if…” save, where you explore taking him into pursuits other than music. “What if Erik became a doctor? An astronaut? A writer? An Actor?” You could set it in an alternate universe, or just frame it as Erik’s musings about where his life might have gone if he had chosen other career options.Something like that could be short term fun until the new pack comes, wouldn’t affect your main save, and you can easily move back to your game at whatever point you choose when you’re ready.

I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling burnt out every now and then. It's normal. Take a step back, maybe a few days off, and come back with renewed vigour. Your Sims will still be there.

When this feeling hits you just must do exactly that, let people down if that is what it takes and then come back stronger than ever when you are once again enjoying your play and its not about sharing for sake of sharing but sharing because you are excited to share something :smile:

Okay so I think I figured it out for myself

I am now writing The Recollection and continuing The New Subject simultaneously and trying to get back in loop with writing things down

The New Subject I will write as I play keeping things simple for myself

it'll be like play and tell about it tomorrow/ later this evening kind of pace

not only did I really need to continue that story so Nervous Subject ages up to correct timeline in relation to my other ts2 sims

I really needed to have something quite simple to play and write to warm up before I piece together my more overwhelming project

which is The Recollection

being about what I have been up to with Goth family these past 12 months or so gathering 2500+ unexplained screenshots :lol: its real struggle to sort out so I am just going to be happy if I get chapter or half done a day and it doesn't end up the most confusing mess you have ever seen :lol:

then hopefully by winterfest I have situation where I might pay Vlad a visit and continue Vlad Returns a little as usual :blush: but no promises as my brain might get toast by this puzzle i've set myself :lol:

Okay, today I played my Scenario save for about two, very short game days. I forgot that with only one Sim in the household the time speeds up while he's in the rabbit hole known as 'work'. Then I tried to play my ancestral game, but that, too, fell flat. I decided, since I've been told that with aging off, the babies won't age up, that I will go ahead and continue on with Erik and company. I made a copy of the save and placed it in a folder on my desktop, should the worst case scenario wreck the game. I have a backup.

I am now going to play my New Main Save RESET game. When the infants drop, I'll likely roll back and replay Jamison and then the twins. I will try very hard, this time, to just jot up the antics of this new life-stage, as an addendum to the over all life of my Rock Star. Once it's time for their third pregnancy to happen, I will turn aging back on and go from there forward.

I know I had high hopes this would work out with the FLASHBACK save, but I now have more experience. (Yeah, it's me talking. LOL) Wish me luck. The worst that could happen is that I simply continue on with this newer version of the RESET save. But, it will likely allow me to have fun again, and perhaps, curb the stress I'm feeling.

Okay, I am currently playing my Erik Cantrell Main Save RESET save. Things are going well, with the exception of the fact I tried to use the map view to set the gameplay through options. I thought it was odd that when I checked Jamison's age it gave me the number of days he had left until he ages up. :open_mouth: And I'm thinking, wow, I can still get that information. I should have known better. I had Erik plan outfit, since he just got nominated for his Eleventh Best Song, so I wouldn't get all caught up in the gameplay and forget. When he came out of the CAS I got the notice that Hayleigh had sent a gift to Hallie. Yeah, for some odd reason, the names get changed for Erik's kids when they come home from the hospital. Didn't do it to Brianna's boys, so obviously it isn't the birthing mod, or any other mod.

Jamison was Branson, or something else. The game changed my twin girls to Hallie and Precious. PRECIOUS! That's either the Ring to Rule them all, or a pet. I decided to see about fixing their names, so I took them into cas.fulleditmode, as I have to do with each and every born ingame child. Good thing I did, too. They weren't exactly identical. Not only that, they BOTH had brown eyes. How on Earth do you get two parents with blue eyes to have a child with brown eyes? Nobody on either side of the family has brown eyes. Nobody, so it can't be a throwback. Well, I changed the eye color, and deleted the one to be replaced by a clone of the other one. I am happily. I made certain, while in the household to turn off aging, for real. I just will keep the other babies on hold, until the infants drop. So, it is and so shall it be. :)

Okay, then I may just do that. But I know I want to take all of Erik's children through the infant stage, so I will roll back once they drop, I think it was mentioned it would be patched in? (Not sure if that's official or not.) But, I suppose as long as the twins don't get too old, things might work out. So far, I haven't had Erik license any songs, so I am in a holding pattern. Without the prospects of another award, it kinda dims the desire to play, too. I'm going to have to sleep more than one night on this, I think.
