One way that I have started to do it is that I have the ceremony and reception be two separate events.
I use the ceremony to take pictures and micromanage my Sims, Only have the people getting married and a photographer. Favorite picture is of the couple walking down the aisle after they exchanged their vows.
And then the reception is a party and I’m not really fuss about completing all the goals. Just food, dancing and maybe a toast/or cake cutting.
