Probably because there's a clear difference between words on a shirt and a logo. A logo might have words on it, or may even be made up entirely of letters but it's still a logo. Changing the logo would destroy that brands incentive to participate in the collaboration. This is basic advertising.
I personally don't like the sweater; not so much because of the logo though, I just think it's ugly - but whatever~
