The advertising in game doesn't bother me, the english text doesn't bother me. I'll use whatever fits the particular sim based on how the clothes look. Don't know much about the companies either, or what they stand for.
As for the pack, I'm loving it. So much that I played my first sim in Sulani almost 2 sim years (default season lenght) without even leaving the island. I didn't run out of things to do. Sure, I didn't ONLY do island-things, I didn't disable all my other packs, and JUST play the new stuff. I have all packs, I'm going to play with whatever I feel like. Still, I didn't run out of things to do, and this was a single sim, no couple or family. The new aspiration, cleaning up Mua Pel'am, fishing, collecting, hanging with friends and my usual skilling as well....kept me quite busy before I even bothered to venture outside Sulani. Didn't even try more than a couple of the new odd jobs. Nor the career. So, still things I want to get into.
I would give IL 10/10 if not for the things I'm missing. Like reggae music, new dance, more interactions for mermaids (and especially BETWEEN mermaids) and of course new bugs
