Gosh I so agree with this thread. All i want In my sims life to be happy is simple everyday things. See saws, free babies, towel dispensers, being able to sit on the floor or have a picnic etc.simple animations of parents playing with their kids. I dont like the exaggerated toddler play who does that? I never use it, neither those giant unrealistic objects.
They seem to not understand how much the "little" details mean, not the big fancy stuff.

I just found out sacrificial has a mod where sims walk and hold hands. I didn't try it out yet but I was literally screaming in my head over something so simple lol. :D
