Most of the time I try to have my Sims go to Talent Night, it's in an outdoor type venue and invariably, it rains. So not worth the time or the effort. However, if you're trying to gain fame points, do bring a group with you and stream the performance. The more your Sim performs before a group of people, the more points they gain. It's along the line you can't be 'discovered' if you hole up in a closet. ;)
