Talking to the Chief

I couldn't do it while the Chief was sitting at the desk. Later when I was lockng my perp up, the Chief came up to me. When I clicked the option for "talk to Chief" was available. She was very rude and demeaning, actually.

Sometimes you have to click on the chief a few times before "talk to chief" pops up. It'll have a little gold badge next to it. I haven't been able to find it in any of the "types" of interaction clouds, only on the main cloud. I've talked to him at his desk loads of times, though. I think it's just kinda hit-or-miss. Just keep clicking on the chief to see if "talk to chief" is there, and if it's not, try again until it is?

Likely needs a bugfix to work as intended.

I use the TS3 style conversation menu in my game. I don't like how the TS4 conversation menus are just all over the place. Make sure it is the chief, because some of them sit in his/her seat. Just sayin', because I did this at least once wondering why I couldn't 'talk to chief' again (had before) when I realized it wasn't a chief at all but a Sim who looked similar.

It should be under Friendly, (a specific command) Talk to Chief.

It's there if you use TS4 style conversation menu. Or at least it was for me earlier.

Yeah, it's a specific command.

Just wondering how to increase my interactions with the chief. He always scolds me for not clearing anything with him. Am I supposed to talk to him before I officially do anything?

I married my Chief of Police. Fortunately when my sim goes to work I get another Chief, not my wife. Otherwise I bet she'd still give him the scripted mean lines.

I was just going to say this. I always found it under "Friendly". However, I concur with another poster. The Chief isn't always very congenial. Usually she had a snide remark for my Sim. Didn't matter that my Sim had maxed out his Charisma, was good-looking, kind, or even amiable. She always had to cut him down to size. LOL (Maybe she was afraid she'd lose her position to him?)
