I usually set up clubs for my teen, one with their closest friends to hang out and a party group for the weekends. You can also play with the personality of your sim. Right now I'm trying a rebellious teen, but as no teens are rebellious (even when they have the trait) this is proving quite a challenge. She did skip school one day, I'm never doing homework and trying to keep her grades low and have her complain a lot as well as fight with her little sister too. It's fun, but also hard, because this is just not something teens do, so you have to direct everything.
