Teen Ideas

I'm okay with mods and any suggestion for fun, dramatic, silly etc teen story lines and upgrades. I hate that this life state is severely neglected in my game because it's such a critical part of anyone's life.

I want teens to runaway. Have group homes. Be able to drop out. Have more options for after school activities like... sports and cheer and band etc. Prom would awesome. Interesting club ideas that aren't homework because teen homework takes forever.

Any and all suggestions welcome. Mods, storyline ideas, cas cc, gallery builds for events or teen living. Literally anything, I want to have a stronger and more interactive teen life state.

It's hard for me to believe my teen is a teen when they can do 99% of what a young adult can do. They don't sneak out, break curfew, have prom, sports, band, etc. I understand the academic part but teens are *usually* more about a social life and when the homework takes 2 sim hours and the need decay is a little faster than young adult it doesn't really leave much social time. They just lack so much but I'm trying to fix that... somehow. So far I've built a boarding school so it'll be an all teen household and starting clubs.

This is the one feature I really, really miss! Even if they break curfew and are out late, they can't really sneak out when everyone in the family is still up and about when they get home. If I could only add one feature to sims 4, the ability to send the rest of the family to bed while away would be it.

I do, and I know there is a curfew you can set for your kids that you can then discipline them for if they break. However, the family is still up and about when a teen comes home, even younger siblings that would logically be asleep at 2 am or whatever time you return. I had the same issue when playing a mother who owned a restaurant. When she returned late at night her toddlers would be running around instead of being in bed.

I rarely look at the game clock, myself. My young Rock Star does (away) gigs late at night, often in the wee hours. Same with his photoshoots. I don't set a curfew because of that. In the past when we first got Parenthood, I did set curfews. I have to say they are a tad disappointing after Sims2. Often, the police would bring the errant Teen home via their squad car in that iteration. I have seen a parent discipline a Teen in my game to the point where he had the interaction to shove his daughter. I did not choose that one. I suppose, if you wanted to, you as the player, could orchestrate things to have the parents and siblings all in bed when the Teen wished to sneak out of the house. But, I understand your frustration.
  • @GalacticGal For me, I stopped using curfews when the family was away together at grandma's for Christmas Dinner and the kids could be disciplined and got negative points for responsibility (or is it manner?) when returning home with their parents. I just took for granted that curfew applied for the kid when out alone, now when with their parents.

Yes, I hear you there. I'm also peeved that the kid on curfew violation weren't even allowed to go to school. What's up with that? They weren't suspended, they were Grounded. Big, big difference.
  • @JAL Yes! I also wish that when I take a sim out to another lot and then return home late, the rest of the household would be in bed sleeping, instead of up doing whatever they'd be doing if I came back home in the middle of the day.

I have a club of teens that hang out in an arcade I had to make for Dream Home Decorator in the basement of the Salty Paws Saloon lol. I also had a Prom planning committee club so the teen sim could quickly meet other teens to invite to "Prom" or a dance party basically.

@Umbreon12 I moved half of my teens into 2 communal living areas where one is for boys and the other for girls. I started clubs for them and have a prom location (or any other event like home coming or just a general hang out, works best as a night club set to teen and university hang out) and some teens still live at home.

I've had more fun with them than young adults honestly. The only thing I'm lacking is a good mod to shorten the length of time they're at school. But I've really enjoyed having either lot (girl or guy home) filled with teens and the "drama" of teen life. They're always hanging out and the best winter fest holiday was with them. It was super cute to have so many over at once place.

That is really cool, I may take that idea for some teen Sims.
I currently have three female teens living in one house, and their three teen brothers as their next door neighbors. The other teen siblings are still living at home. The only annoying thing about it is that I edited the new teens into the family, and made them meet their sibling to form a bond. The game showed that they were family, but the siblings were strangers until I had them all meet.
I have another teen owning, and breeding dogs, while living in an apartment.
I find teens being a bit more fun, because there is the challenge of school, and I like building up their skills.
