Usually, though not always, by the time the family has teens, I've "finished" with whatever the storyline is for the adults and I then focus on the Teens and their story/stories. So teens tend to get a fair amount of focus in my game.
I only play a single household at a time, though. If I played rotationally, that would probably drop as I'd need to spend more time covering the adults (unless I turned aging off.)
My current game started with a group of four teens taking on the Strangerville plot.
