Televisions and couches
Is anyone aware of how far away (how many grids) from the TV a couch can be before the sims won't use it anymore?

Actually, if you put a couch too close to the tv, sims won't use it.
I think 3 squares away is a safe distance, but 2 or 2,5 might also still work.
