Daniel Jonathan Reed, dedicated father
I) What do they for a career?
Daniel started out as a detective, where he met his future husband. He later enrolled in Psychology, what would have been useful to skip a few detective ranks, but then decided to become a teacher. I think this suits him better.
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended.
Immediate: His husband Gavin (a vampire), Daniel’s daughter by alien abduction and the Chief of Police’s neglected son that the Reeds foster. Also two cats.
Extended: Next door live Gavin’s parents with his ex Tina and their son. Tina also turned out to be Daniel’s fated mate when both got turned into werewolves recently. The trio finds that very romantic. These two households are very close and I often swap sims back and forth.
Daniel’s relationship to his adoptive parents is strained, but he is good friends with his younger sister that he helped parent.
III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there.
A contemporary one-story house in the suburbs (Newcrest), but I may add another floor soon so that each kid can have their own room. They have a large yard, a swimming pool/party deck and a horse.
IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…)
Daniel’s greatest challenge is overcoming his Hot-headed trait. It’s less the little moodlet and more the fact that I play him as a person with anger management issues. I needed four attempts to get the Transformation Mastery trait for Daniel (his fated mate managed it first try). That was stressful, but also so very much in-character!
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date?
Daniel’s vampire cookbook. For the amount of research (Learning vampire lore and downloading cc recipes) it took I’m very sad that the actual book came out only normal quality.
VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure.
I forced him into too many already for his taste! I think a gameshow that he can participate in with the whole family would be adventure enough for Daniel.
