Unlike me, I know a lot of you stay dedicated to families and Sims for long periods. I want you to tell me about your favourite Sim.
I) What do they for a career? II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended. III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure.
I) What do they for a career? Stella Callahan is an actress (sitcom star currently) and also dabbles in spellcasting, potion-making and crafts on the side.
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended. Stella Callahan, her husband Ezra (who is now a werewolf), their three toddlers Aurora (alien adopted), Luella & Luca (twins); extended family is her mother Selina, father Cosmo, two sisters Gemma (twin spellcaster) and Merabella (mermaid, half-sister), and Ezra's brother, Elliot.
III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. Stella currently lives in a large victorian-inspired house that I built without blueprints. I update it with every pack/kit. It's nestled in Henford-on-Bragley and features a master bedroom, child's room (bunk beds setup), butler's room and murphy guest bed. Has a huge basement, too! On my gallery under simaddict1990 if curious.
IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) * Due to Ezra being a scientist, he has visited Sixam and made alien contact--backstory is he found an orphaned baby and that's how Aurora came into the picture. * Ezra was bitten by a werewolf and Stella found out she was pregnant before his first transformation--so now they have twins with one being a werewolf and one a spellcaster. All together three toddlers aged up between about 2 sim weeks.
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? Defeated the Mother Plant! About to start the Journey to Batuu quest. VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure. As a spellcaster, Stella loves all things magical, mystical and occult. A great adventure would be all of her friends across occult types to solve a mystery or go on a grand adventure similar to Lord of the Rings!
Currently, I’m mostly playing occult premades, with a few originals to fill out my story. But, Oberon Lazuli was the original character that was most involved in my prequel save and has finally made his return in the current save. He is definitely the favorite of my original characters for this story.
What do they for a career?
It’s not so much a career as a calling. Oberon is a Curator, a being who acts as a guide and curator of information and knowledge to sims. Especially supernatural sims. He also is the proprietor of The Blue Moon Tavern, where he dispenses drinks, food, and advice.
How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended.
No family, but he occasionally shares his life with companions. His current household consists of Anaya Finch, a young woman with some limited shapeshifting abilities, and Mau, a Spellcaster trapped in a cat’s existence by a curse.
Where do they live?
In an apartment above the tavern. The Blue Moon is extra-dimensional and has no fixed point in time or space, but is most often encountered at night in the forests outside of Windenburg. Folklore says you will only find it if you need it. It is a functional tavern that provides a common meeting ground between The Curator (Oberon) and any Sims who may need to engage with him. It gets its name from Oberon’s observation that one might be able to find it “Once in a blue moon.”
What challenges do they face?
Oberon possesses a great amount of knowledge and information that can change the course of history. His challenge is to know which secrets need to be shared, and which are best left hidden in the dark. He also has cat training issues.
What is their single greatest achievement to date?
That’s hard to say, since his existence goes back to before our story started. He’s mastered mixology, which you would expect. But, in story, his greatest achievement was being instrumental in preserving magic by ensuring the survival of the last of The Ancients, Morgyn Ember. But, that’s another story. Literally. That was my last save.
In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure.
I don’t think Oberon is concerned with adventure. He’s more interested in outcome. The best outcome, from his perspective, is always to maintain the balance between the natural and the supernatural worlds, and keep watch over various complex dimensions. And, since that’s what he’s here for, I guess that’s also the adventure.
Canvas I) What do they for a career? Currently she's running down the vacation days she has left in the Retail career, then she'll figure out something new. She's been a Celebrity Chef and an Angel Investor at different points. II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended. 9 Her immediate family includes her husband and sister. Her extended family is a bit wonky. There's her alternate self, her alt's husband, her alt's daughter, and her alt's 3 sisters. Then there's her corporealized child self. III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. Currently, she and her immediate family live in her childhood apartment in San Myshuno. They made sure to empty it first, and since it contained nothing but bad memories, they'd work together to symbolically and literally fill it with good ones (all of the furniture is either bought in the world, built, or earnt). IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) Since everything is either bought, built, or earnt, they have to build their skills and travel to do what's necessary. They also live off-the-grid, so whilst not a challenge usually, it is limiting when they need to cook or order certain necessities online. In those cases they'll usually "borrow" a neighbor's facilities. V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? Since she never had a good childhood, they managed to work together to raise her literal child self, giving her good memories and bolstering her values and capabilities, which would further strengthen her against her bad memories. VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure. A night out at the Spice Festival, her sister manipulating visitors, her husband taking on the "Spice Challenge" (and winning), and her playing her violin at the busking spot. The other two would join her soon after, watching as she lost herself in the sounds of the festival-goers, the clinking of simoleons, the shouts of the vendors, and her music filling the air. https://i.imgur.com/8JfNSF8.png
https://i.imgur.com/hjX7mQ0.jpg She loves Sulani and is the Master of Marine Affairs. She also happens to be a vampire and her name is Delmarya Fier. I try not to have favorite Sims, so she's not my favorite but she's definitely a Sim I like.
I) What do they for a career? She's a marine biologist in Sulani. Her title is Master of Marine Affairs (level 10).
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended.
She's a perfectionist and her parents are a bit clingy, so despite being a young adult, she still lives at home with them and her little sister (immediate household = 4 total).
Her extended family = very many. Her parents had 17 kids… They have great-great-great grandchildren. I don't want to count. My guess is 100 or more.
III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. She lives in Myshuno Meadows in San Myshuno, but intends to move back to Sulani soon.
IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) Learning to chill out. Her biggest challenge is an existential one, though: what should she exist as (and thus how long should she exist)? To be a vampire or not to…
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? Deli has a lot of the typical achievements. She's her family's perfectionist overachiever, so she maxed all the toddler skills, child skills, parenthood traits, straight A+s her entire life, worked full-time through university while taking a full courseload, went to university just for fun, Starlight Accolade just because and all of it during the time of the "normal" lifespan… She also has friends and a boyfriend. Her greatest achievement is letting go of her desire to be perfect and opening herself up to being hurt by confessing to her now-boyfriend. The other stuff came easily, but she had her first kiss (just) after graduating from college.
VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure. Climbing a volcano, learning how hot is hot, and then leaping off the top of the volcano and into the ocean, and swimming around in it. https://i.imgur.com/ClZdDDZ.jpg
@NRowe This is such a fun thread. Do you have any favorite Sims of your own, even if you only played them for a short while?
This is an easy survey for me. Erik James Cantrell is a Musical Genius. He's as charming as they come. He's humble, witty and engaging. He's friendly and kind to both the Paparazzi who haunt him, as well as his fans, often giving his autograph and/or taking a Selfie with a fan. He has genuine compassion for his Obsessed Fans. (One just froze to death before Erik got home. The Sim was outside of Erik's back fence, fully clothed for a change, yet, still he froze. Turned into a block of ice. :open_mouth: ) He's also a Sim of religious conviction. He attends church weekly, and comports himself as best he can guided by his convictions. He's never outright mean to even the most annoying Sim. Sometimes, he may sigh, but he's very friendly and loving in nature.
I) What do they for a career? Erik has mastered the violin, the guitar, the piano, and so therefore the Digi-organ. He writes songs, plays concerts, sits for photoshoots, has been known to give spur-of-the-moment interviews. He is the King of Rock, currently.
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended. Erik grew up in an intact home with loving parents, who nurtured each one of their children's gifts. Erik is the second of four sons. There is one girl in the family. They lived on the planet Vulcan for many years. In fact, Erik was born in space. Read any census record and in the column place of birth it says born in Space. Erik is now married with four Toddlers and another baby on the way. His older and next younger brothers are also married. His only sister is married, and is the mother of three children at this time. Twin boys and a baby girl. Erik's inlaws are still alive and he has four sisters-in-law. Kayleigh, his wife is one of identical triplets. The Golden Trips have two younger sisters. Erik's first sister-in-law also has two siblings, plus her parents are still alive. Currently, his next younger brother and wife, have no children. Give them a minute, they only just got married. :joy: Grand total: Immediate- 6; Extended-15, counting his sisters' still living inlaws.
III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. When the Cantrell family first returned to planet Earth, they took up residence in the 'family home' in Del Sol Valley, once owned by Erik's great-grand uncle. It is affectionately called the Cantrell House by the local community. This antique abode is situated on the top of the hill in that city. The family also inherited Simoleons from the old, odd eccentric Sim. The house is primarily a log cabin, but has been renovated and is nicely appointed without losing the house of 'long ago' feel to it. The area that would have been changed to a garage, has instead been turned into a Green House, of sorts. I told you Uncle Joseph was odd. ;) Large, there are several rooms; a formal living room with a fireplace; a Keeping Room off of the kitchen with a fireplace; a formal dining room; between the dining room and the kitchen is a Butler's Pantry; a front bedroom, which was converted to a Music Room for Erik, with an adjacent bathroom; a large master suite complete with a jet tub; on the second floor are several more bedrooms and bathrooms. A suite above the keeping room that belongs to the only daughter. A gaming room, for the kids; a computer room for the five kids and their mom, adjacent to a bathroom; in the front corner is Erik's father's office. He's a school teacher. The room next to the office is where the three oldest boys slept; the back corner bedroom was where the youngest slept. He's considerably younger than the first four kids. After graduation, Erik and Kayleigh moved into the house they had built in Henford-on-Bagley on Old Mill Hill.
IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) Erik began working on his singing career when he was in his last year of high school. He wrote songs, recorded albums, did Meet & Greets, before long he was a Global Superstar and began to give concerts, as well. Then his image was wanted for the front covers of Trendy Teen Magazines. That's when the photoshoots began. He's wildly popular. His biggest challenge is keeping ahead of his fans, especially the Obsessed Fans who know no boundaries. He married his high school sweetheart after they graduated and before they left for Uni together. Currently, this couple has four children. A boy came first and he was barely a Toddler, when their second child turned out to be triplet girls. Now, they are doing their best to wrangle four Toddlers. This is a huge challenge, especially when his only son decided to disappear frequently. Last time around, Erik found the tiny boy down in the basement, where the built-in pool is. Happily, the child was just fine. He hired a Butler after that to help keep tabs on the munchkins. Erik has a modest garden and they have chickens, too. The hope is to one day use only fresh ingredients to prepare their meals.
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? To date: Erik has released nineteen albums and has won fifteen Starlight Accolades for Best Song. He's got another one pending, having been nominated yet again.
VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure. Erik's best adventure was his astonishing rise to fame. He became a Global Superstar in just ten Sim days!
I guess one of MY favourites that I’ve played a few time over is Bonnie Sheffield.
Bonnie is almost always a Scientist, though occasionally she’s started as a paid gardener (think garden centre in the city, rabbit hole rather than farming her own…)
Bonnie has variously lived alone, started as a teenager with her mother or had house/room mates. Most often she resides in Oasis Springs, humble abodes like my very own built from scratch Agave Abode or a renovated Nookstone. But as I said she’s had a few alternate lives…
Bonnie has existed before the advent of challenges like vampirism, off the grid or haunted houses. Actually I haven’t played her in YEARS. She would get abducted, an occupational hazard of her job at the lab…
One of her best lives, Bonnie married her girlfriend (early on she ‘developed’ a preference for females in my head cannon, almost by accident and nearly unique among my many Sims). They adopted a daughter and were doing a great job of raising her when real life intervened and this watcher abandoned the game entirely for months.
Bonnie’s best adventure would be to FINALLY make it to Sixam. Though she wouldn’t say no to a good jungle adventure or a blast on the beaches of Sulani…
"Favorite" is a bit tough for me because I have many sims I enjoy playing, many that I am very fond of, and several different stories happening. But whenever someone asks this question, I always seem to come back to this guy. He's definitely at the top of my favorites list.
His name is Lunar Seven. He's an alien-spellcaster hybrid I created with the cheat that adds the spellcaster trait. He was supposed to just be an experiment to see how well it worked, but I fell in love with him and the "test" turned into a story.
I) What do they for a career?
Lunar is currently a scientist, but he's reached level 10 (I play with aging turned off) and he's ready for a change. He'll be switching to the Engineering career as soon as he uses up the last few days of his PTO. Working from home will suit him a lot better.
Lunar also makes magic potions to sell, as a spellcaster.
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended.
Lunar has a baby named Tranquility. Named after the "Sea of Tranquility" on the moon.
Tranquility was the result of an alien abduction early on in Lunar's scientist career. I'm keeping him as a baby for a full sim year (longest seasons setting) but he's almost there, so he'll be aging up to toddler in a few more weeks. Lunar is already excitedly getting a toddler room ready.
Lunar also lives with a butler he hired so that someone would be there to take care of Tranquility when Lunar gets abducted (which happens a lot), and a Servo named Ramsey that he recently finished making. He has no other family that he knows about.
It has four levels underground. Lunar has a robotics and chemistry lab, a magic potion making area, a subterranean garden, a vault, a "calm room" for doing yoga and meditation, and basic living quarters for him and his household (on the lowest level). There are high security doors everywhere, and two escape routes. One escape route goes to a wormhole generator, and the other goes to his rocket ship.
IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…)
Lunar's main ongoing challenge is that he has both the "loner" and "paranoid" traits. Whenever he has to leave his bunker he spends most of his time tense, scared, or both. Doing his job, getting magic mentoring at the Magic Realm, and making any friends at all (he does have a couple) have all been pretty rough for him.
He had a mishap making potions at one point and got the curse of repulsiveness, which did not help make him more comfortable around people, poor guy. He didn't know how to get rid of curses himself at the time, so he spent quite a while like that before Morgyn Ember helped him find the tomes he needed. (Sometimes, for story purposes, I briefly move sims between households so I can control who I need to control to make a plot point happen. Morgyn had already lost his status as a Sage because he had apparently decided to become a secret agent. So I made him a house, and had him gift Lunar the tomes.)
Lunar also gets abducted by aliens a lot, so finding a way to make sure his baby is cared for when that happens (and getting used to having a butler and Servo in his home) was a challenge for him as well. But he's getting used to them.
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date?
Getting that Servo finished. Wow, that takes a long time!
VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure.
I don't think Lunar is really into adventures. He tries to avoid them. Just like Bilbo Baggins.
But just being an alien, alone on a human world, has been quite an adventure for him, whether he wanted it to be or not.
I) What do they for a career? - Well, she's a child sim. No career yet, but she's focused on finishing school, is currently an active scout, and aspires to go to University to study Language & Literature.
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended. - Her immediate family includes her father (Wade), mother (Darla), brother (Keaton) and their family dog (Captain). Oh, and their goldfish (Neptune). As for extended family, she has living grandparents on her father's side (Waylon and Mae Holden).
III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. - Dallas and her family are residents of Newcrest. Her home is more of a reflection of her parents, so I'll describe her bedroom. Her style is light and bright. Her room is full of things she loves like her scouting trophies, Meduso collectibles (her favorite voidcritter), pictures of her friends, and plenty of plants. I've included a couple of pictures just for fun.
https://i.imgur.com/a54Sv6N.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/8ONQeXx.png IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) - Her biggest challenge so far as a child has been developing her sense of self. She's growing up, which is a challenge in itself, so she's just trying to figure out who she is and what she likes.
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? - She's been striving to be a Llamacorn scout for some time, so when she finally earned all of her badges and got promoted - it was a pretty big day in the Holden fam.
VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure. - Dallas is young, her "best" adventure is going to the waterpark with her family and friends on a summer day and eating as much ice cream as she can before she gets a brain freeze..or maybe that's part of the adventure?
Thank you, @NRowe for creating this thread. It's such a good idea! I love reading other simmer's ideas, and I'm very happy that I was able to contribute my little addition. Happy Simming! :)
@NRowe, I'm a lot like you in that I don't usually stick to a household for long periods of time. That being said, my current favorite sim is an alien named Orion Xalvador.
I) What do they do for a career? He's a level 10 Scientist
II) How many members in their family: both immediate household and extended. There are four members: Orion and his three children: twins, Aurora and Kylo, and his youngest daughter Elara.
Aurora and Kylo are his kids from a woohooty call (mod) with Zara Bradford from my save file. Zara left when the twins were babies because she didn't want to be a mother (another mod).
Aurora and Kylo are humans sims but have green skin and black. When they were toddlers they looked like baby Hulks. I love them as they are.
Elara is his daughter from abduction. She just aged up to a child but I haven't played much in the last week so I'm not sure where her story will go.
III) Where do they live? Tell me a little about their house there. They currently live in a starter house in Willow Creek but Orion wants to move back to StrangerVille, where he got his start. He's saving up for a three-bedroom house because right now all three kids share a small bedroom.
IV) What challenges do they face? (maybe they live off-the-grid, get abducted or live in a haunted house…) He's a single father. Trying to balance work, the kids and a dating life hasn't been the easiest for him. Orion has had a few girlfriends but they didn't last too long. He has feelings for his best friend, Sonia, and has confessed his feelings. She's also an alien and she promptly wiped his memory. So I don't know if she is going to be his "end game" as I had originally planned.
V) What is their single greatest achievement to date? Maxing out his career, and several skills. His kids are mostly good kids and are doing great in school.
VI) In a few words, tell me their idea of the “best” adventure. They haven't gone on any adventures really. With school and work, there isn't a lot of time to do much else.
For the most part, it's a fairly happy household but all three of the kids have no knowledge of their mothers for one reason or another. Orion has done his best to be a good father and I think he's doing really well.
