The acting career is kind of bad..

Specifically, the pay. I know that a lot of people don't want easy money, but it absolutely SHOULD be easy money for a 5 star actor. 6-7k a gig isn't fun when you can only do it 2 days a week at best.

Perhaps a nice booster could be that your stars multiply the payout. So 2 stars = double the pay, 3 stars = three times the pay etc.

Plus, it needs the ability to get 10% raises at max level and the perk that doubles pay already needs to work.

I have had 5 star actors being swooned over that could barely afford a middle income house.

  • My first sim made quite a bit of money and raised to fame fast. She also worked on her skills a lot. If she got a gold star, she earned more money on top of fame points.
  • Yeah, the pay is horrendous, and Negotiating a Bonus (Lv10 Charisma interaction on the phone) doesn't work properly. (Increases work performance bar, but doesn't give the bonus money, even though it says it does)

Also I hear that Elders that retired from the Acting career don't get the pensions/retirement pay that other retirees get.

Ironically, being a super-famous Actor is one of the worst-paying careers in the game so far.

Really, you should be able to work more often, too.
Especially with that one Fame Perk that lets you skip Auditions, it doesn't let you work any sooner, it just replaces the day you have to spend auditioning with a blank nothing day of just waiting.
I wish it was like freelance work, where you could go to work ASAP, if you wanted.

Like without the audition skip perk it could be:
    1) Pass Audition
    2) Chat With Director
    3) Go to Work

And with the perk it'd just be:
    1) Chat With Director
    2) Go to Work

In this case the "Chat With Director" part would just be like an explanation as to how everyone else is ready when your Sim is, rather than just magically having everything ready, I suppose.
Just being able to work MORE OFTEN would do wonders for this careers horrible paygrade.
  • Maybe add residual income by fame level for your shows going into syndication
  • Only way I was able to make a lot of money as an actor was if the actor was constantly making music tracks and videos, I got around 10,000 a day. But that doesn't work if you want to play as a classic actor who doesn't do music, videos and streaming. You also can't play another household because then you lose your sponsor.
  • I've found that my sims can easily make way more money from video royalties, which are paid every day rather than just once or twice a week. The only time I ever played Judith Ward, I had to have her quit her job because the bills for her house are so high, she can't support herself from the pay from the actor career. I had her switch to just making videos, and she's swimming in simoleons now.
