The best profit plants

I know there are a few listings out there, but I couldn't find any clear sort by profit you can make from gardening. So, I made my own list, and in case you can find it useful too, here I'm sharing.

I gathered info by growing each plant in their right season, and although the time it takes to get a mature plant can be somehow inaccurate (normally within 24 hrs or within a couple days), the value from selling plants is correct. And I tested for Normal and Perfect quality.

And wow! I had no idea you could get this rich from growing a few plants! Did you know that a single Morel Mushroom (Outdoor Retreat) gives §180 every day? And that's when you grow a Normal quality plant, if you can get the plant to Perfect quality it will reward you with §500 per day! So, what if you grow 5 or 10 of those plants? My farming sims grow way more than 10 plants and make way less money, so I might have them adjust their farm...

If you don't have Outdoor Retreat pack, also Growfruit pays off very well, and to my surprise also flowers like Lily, Begonia, Dahlia, Rose, Tulip - and so on.

The listings sorts by plant group, active season and best profit, and are linked from my blog. Or you can go directly: Duchess Botanical Tables.

Btw: I found other stuff, too. Like one Winter when the temperature was very low, all normal plants of a given specie died, while Perfect plants of the same survived. I had no idea plants could die from frost! Not sure if this is valid for all species though.

Also - keep in mind that these info is valid only for plants grown outdoors. If you keep them sheltered they will give less crops, but give crops regardless of season, so the earnings will probably be even better as a total. I did not test anything sheltered.

Why didn't I think of growing the Outdoor retreat plants at my sims' houses? I've been holding onto what I collected, minus the ones they ate to identify the plants, so will need to give this a try.

Dragonfruit are money makers. I caught one while fishing in Magnolia Promenade then grew it and used those new fruit to grow even more. I have several plants and make something like 11,000 simoleons each time I harvest. I'm not sure what quality they are.

I know blueberries gave me a lot of money.

Where did you find blueberries, @DoloresGrey ?
  • According to Carl who uses the base value before any evolving the UFO plant is the most valuable followed by dragon fruit and then orchid. If you have other packs it's UFO, dragon fruit then Begonias and the Jungle Adventures Avocado. Dahlia comes in at 5th if I read the table correctly.

The money tree from Get Famous takes everything else out.

@CaprianaB Sorry, I was too lazy to look up the proper name. Unforotunatelly, in the czech version of the game the plant is called blackberry and the product is called blueberry. I didn't know which one was actually correct. Now I know the right name is blackberry. I am sorry for the confusion I made.
  • Oh ya - I did not test those special plants like dragonfruit and UFO etc. Money tree probably give lots of earnings, too.

This project was more on "normal" garden plants, like edibles and flowers.

Will definitely add info on those specials later on :)

    No problem. Thank you!
