The Butler option doesn't show in Services?

Hi everyone! I bought & downloaded Vintage Glamour last night and everything works perfectly in game, other than the fact I can't find anything
to do with the Butler... I've looked online for help and I've found nothing, I've asked friends who play the game and nothing... Everybody is telling
me that you need to open your phone and go to Services and it'll be there, like where the Maid is and etc. I know this, but it's not there for me?
I've repaired my game twice, used an Elder Sim, Y/A Sim and a teen Sim to see if it'd work for any of those and it doesn't. I have a big home and
I have over $60,000 so I can afford it. I just don't know why it isn't coming up for me. Do I need to download a Mod or anything for it? It seems to
work for EVERYBODY else but me! I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm really upset because the only reason why I bought this was for the
Butler thing and it doesn't even work for me. I'm beyond annoyed.

Can someone please give me advice? I really don't know what to do. Is anybody else having this trouble? Thanks!
I don't know if it matters, but I don't have the Luxury Party stuff pack... But I doubt that matters!

  • Nevermind, guys! I found a fix! I had the "food delivery" mods and that was what was preventing it from showing up! :)
  • Hello
It is good that you have found the mods causing the issues :) It is helpful to know which mods were the cause of the issue.
It would be great if you could also post the names of the mods in the broken /updated mods thread.

  • Yeah, I had the same problem. Turns out I was still using that mod from way back during the release days, that added gardeners and repairmen, even though we already got both from a patch.

I never noticed, because my Sims rarely garden, and my Sim's Handiness scores are either so high or I have enough disposable cash to simply replace the items, that I never really call Service NPCs and never went into that menu until I got Vintage Glamour.
  • Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I have had this problem for a while. It's from some of the mods, I deleted all and it worked, but I don't want to lose all the clothes, hair etc.. Any idea what mods could cause this?

@nennaotus It could honestly be any mod that is outdated. Be sure to check any mod you use to make sure it's always up to date with every patch. Also, every time you make a change to your mods folder, if you add or remove any mods or CC, even if it's just one piece, make sure you delete the localthumbcache file in your Sims 4 folder. This file can cause glitches and lingering issues if not updated every time you alter your mods folder. The game will generate a brand new localthumbcache file when you next start up your game.

I've gotten into the habit of deleting that file regularly and only using mods that are confirmed to be updated with the most recent patch, and I rarely have mod issues.

Also, I've found that whenever we get a new pack, there's usually a patch, so every time I patch or add content, I first remove my mods, delete the cache files, then download the pack/patch and do a game repair just in case. I load the game vanilla to do a test run. Then I check the creators for mod updates and add back in what I can to the game, delete the cache files again, and try it out with my mods and CC. It's a lot of maintenance but I think it's worth it to prevent issues.

    Hope that helps! :)

Can mods like hair and clothes etc cause the problem, or is it something like MC command center? :) Thanks for your reply!

@nennaotus Sometimes CC can break, and in my personal experience, I've had it cause some glitches, so broken content does need to be removed. Usually if you try removing the clothing and hair and then try your game and the game works, you'll know it's something in your CC. If you have a lot of custom content, you'll have to find out which piece is causing it. The best method is to test it in batches. You can try splitting your content into two batches and putting the first half of your CC in the game, then trying it out to see if the problem is still there. If it is, you'll know it's something in that batch. If it isn't, try the second batch. When you know which batch has the problem, split it in half again and do the same thing. Keep doing this until you can narrow it down to the piece that's causing the problem. And remember to delete the localthumbcache file every time you change your mods folder.

    Good luck!
