The Curious Case of the Immortal Nanny

My Sims family has had the same nanny since the second generation was born, a gentleman by the name of Tevin McKinley. He's always been an elder. I'm in generation four now. I'm starting to suspect that he is immortal. Sims that he's known since birth have already grown old and died and he's as spry as ever. I only have the base game and the holiday pack, so this cannot be due to having the Weirdo trait, which I believe is from City Living.

To make things stranger, one day when I hired a nanny, two showed up, Tevin and a new townie that looks like he could be Tevin's brother, which he is not.

This was not an isolated incident. The last time I hired a nanny, I was greeted by two once again.

Between those two hirings, both my game and my laptop had been restarted.

So you see, I've a mystery on my hands. Who really is Tevin McKinley and why doesn't he seem to age? And what of the mysterious doppleganger? Where will this investigation lead me?

And why does Tevin wear a suit in the pool?

    Ohh interesting. I guess it's supposed to give nannies Mary Poppins vibes? ? Well, that's one half of the mystery solved. Thank you!

    This explains why my legacy family had the same Nanny for 35 generations. The nanny finally "died" and was replaced when I had to move the family to the gallery and then into a new save.

    Maybe he thought it would keep him warm, despite the cold water? As for the Doppelganger, this could be his son/grandson maybe? Intriguing problem you have. Good luck sorting it out. You could to into manage households and delete one or the other. They are normally found under Not in the World section.

    I kind of like having two nannies, it's twice the help. I have Free Services, so I'm not charged anything.

    I actually have "Mara Poppins" based on Mary Poppins obviously. As my immortal Nanny. (Like in the original movie when the wind blows them away, I had to delete all the other random "Nannies" being generated to get her finally to be the default, lol! You can find some versions people made on the Gallery. I'm not in game right now or I'd show the exact one I have. ;)

    My immortal nanny is an elder man called Naoki Murakami. He is good friends with every kid he has been taking care (without me intervening). And he comes regularly to knock on everyone's doors when they have grown up. I haven't yet decided if it's lovely or creepy...
