I'll never understand. Simmers want Gurus to act like Gamechangers and Gamechangers to know what SimGurus know. The whole Sims community was chaotic during that live stream and the worst displayment in chat that I've seen since joining the Sims community back in 2015. I bet that majority of people complaining about the stream being professional don't even stream themselves. Think you can do it better, prove it. Streaming is hard. Gurus aren't robots. Game Changers aren't robots. So give them a break geez. True SimGuruGraham is good at streaming, but he's had practice with non-Sims streams and I enjoy watching his channel a lot. It took a lot of trial and error on SimGuruSteve's part to even get the streams as good looking as they are now. I still struggle with streaming myself. There were so many bots and fighting during that stream, I had to rewatch it just to understand what was being said and believe me it isn't easy to ask questions while children are fighting in chat. I am just glad I didn't have to mod that chat, because I'm not as forgiving when using my ban hammer. That just was the most toxic chat I've ever seen and there was no sense of Sims community in it. It was a war zone there that makes even the League of Legend trolls look like a "safe space".
No, I don’t agree with that. These are professionals trying to sell a game to me, it’s their job to do that properly. I mean, I’m a librarian and I wouldn’t get away with that if I’d communicate in such a poor way (I have to communicate with schools and writers mainly and it’s highly important I do that in a clear and professional way; if I don’t, “well try and do it yourself in a better way!” wouldn’t be an argument at all, actually that kind of attitude would rather get me into trouble). If streaming is that hard (I have no idea, nor the ambition to try it), then livestreaming might not be the proper way to advertise and inform. Why needs it to be live anyway. I completely fail to understand that.
Somehow ‘scripted’ seems to be a negative thing? It’s not. Scripted means you thought through properly what exactly you want to show people. Having a script is essential to get a message across. Nobody benefits from noise and chaos. It also means you don’t have to steal two hours of other people’s lives with just mediocre (or even poor) footage, leaving them all disappointed.
