The Get To Work question you're all tired of answering.

I'm finally ready to Get To Work, but I really don't want my neighborhood full of aliens. In fact, I don't want them in some of my saves at all. I know there are ways to get rid of Alien nights at the bars and to prevent abductions. Is there a mod that keeps them from spawning at all? I've avoided MCCC so far because I really can't be trusted not to micromanage with it (I had it's equivalent in Sims3). Is it really my only hope of alienlessness? If so, I might not get the pack at all. :c

  • Alien bar nights only happen on Tuesdays. If you stay out of bars on Tuesdays, never visit Sixam, and cancel any abductions.. you should have a very negligible amount of aliens in your game but I can't guarantee that there wouldn't be any at all.
  • The MCCC mod has a way to disable alien bar nights and stop aliens spawning unless the game needs them. They'll still spawn if you've got a sim pursuing the active element of the science career though. I don't know about other mods to stop aliens though.
  • Without mods, the best way to avoid aliens are don't go to Sixam (Alien homeworld), don't get into the Science Career (it is my favorite career), and stay away from Alien Night at the bar. If you don't want to bother with MCCC there is a mod that disables Alien Night at the bar. Here is a link to it. https://www.deichschafblog.de/s4/mods-fuer-zeit-fuer-freunde/ Go down to the one that says less bar nights
  • Having a high logic skill and gazing at the sky via the telescope also increases the chance of abductions. None of my sims ever visited Sixam or entered the scientist career and they were getting abducted and impregnated many times.HATE ALIENS for this reason.
  • My Celebrity Chef (minus Get Famous EP) just got abducted. She came home from work. Baked something for dinner everyone got up and was doing stuff and I realized the Mom went outside. Next thing I know she is getting beamed up. She isn't in the Science Career and yet this is the third time she has been abducted. So odd lol
  • Also if you find out a townie is an alien, don't get too close to them. My abductions started after my sim moved in an alien townie lover. Though so far that alien is the only sim who's been abducted. Another sim started to leave the house to see the lights, but was distracted by the need to open his umbrella so he was fine.

Edited to add: This is my fourth save and the first time I've had alien abductions. I've had Get to Work in all of them. But I've never interacted with an alien townie after finding out they were an alien before.
  • Actually with MCCC, it saves me a lot of micromanaging. It just takes some time to configure it to your desires, but once that's done, you never have to worry about that stuff again. It even saves the settings between new games.

Yes, but I can't use MCCC. I don't have the willpower to leave it alone. Trust me, I know myself. I cannot have MCCC in my game and enjoy myself. I can't stop fiddling with it.

LOL. I'm a bit the same. Slight ADD. I tend to fiddle a lot myself. But the clean-up options alone make it worth it to me. Removes old sims from my friendship panel I don't care to interact with any more, removes dead sims to speed up gameplay... etc. Plus it gives more options for sim lifetimes. Like I can tag certain sims to not age or not get pregnant, or not marry.

It's ok. To each their own. I tend to use a lot of mods though, in all my games.
  • The only time I've ever run into aliens in my games (outside of when playing the Science career or adding them into my game myself) is when I've stumbled upon alien night at the bar. Other then that I've on occasion had a non-science sim get abducted but it's very rare.

I haven't come across a true random in-the-wild hidden alien in my words in a really long time...like YEARS...sometimes I wonder if the game even actually does spawn them that way anymore if you don't trigger it into happening some other way.
