The music for TS5 has been chosen...

Chosen by me!

May I introduce you to my latest video. Flash Power by Sam Townend and Ben Stevens which is probably one of the finest pieces of music ever written!

But what has this got to do with The Sims?

Well, I have often appreciated the past efforts of the developers into making some decent music for The Sims but more often than not we get a few well known popstars (or well known at the time) singing songs in Simlish. Okay, that's cool but not everyone wants to hear just pop. I prefer the electronic music that we have had since TS1 and feel that it is time to pick things up a bit further.

I suggest that we have some proper Hard House and I think that it should dominate The Sims. Imagine a full expansion pack dedicated to that one music genre? That would be awesome!

We need proper clubs in The Sims. Not just 'a few Sims turn up but then go home because they are tired but proper clubs. Real clubs.

We need to have Sims organise a big event where everyone wants to turn up and make it a night for Sims to remember. We need a whole culture around young adult Sims (or even elders) who cannot wait for the weekend. We need these places to be packed out and it should be a great chance for Sims to meet over Sims.

We need more dance moves. More atmosphere and more music!

Lets make The Sims 5 a Sims game to remember and keep the Hard House scene strong!

The Sims, imagine...

  • Please, no. I'm not a fan of hard house (or house music and it's subgenres in general) and I like having an array of music so I don't want to see a game hyper-focused on one genre no matter what it is. I agree that I'd like to see more music outside of pop songs covered in Simlish, but everything else, naw.

There has been a severe lack of Hard House in The Sims for years. That needs to change

There's been a severe lack of New wave, post punk, post rock, Viking folk metal, Mongolian folk metal, Baroque pop, folktronica...
    That needs to change.

I really don't see the point in whining about the lack of one or two genres, when there are hundreds that the game lacks. I'd prefer more overlap of genres, as it's more likely to satisfy more people.

Why not go out of the box? A 1980's post-punk song, played in the style of a 1930's, with unusual instruments.

This is one of those Ultimate Band type scenarios, and this track would work fantastically as sims music

I was serious about the Mongolian folk metal (with a bluegrass twist)

  • @Movotti To be fair the Mongolian one sounded alright!

Now if some people where a bit offended by the Hard House that I shared then I am afraid that I was going soft on you.

This is some real filth! Two years old this month!
