the newly added mac makeup collection

a collab with a non-cruelty-free company for a patch released days before the dlc promoting a ECO LIFESTYLE doesn't sit right with me.

also, yet again the makeup does not suit masculine sims nor sims with darker skin tones.

  • The naughty seed eyeliner needs to either be removed from the game or rated restricted adult or fixed. ?
That being said I do so like the other new
    make-ups.?

Just more Maxis-created CAS stuff I won't use. Shrugs Kind of a big waste of time and resources, in my opinion. Especially when compared to how well everything else in this pack was done. The make up looks as if they gave a four year old some crayons and told him/her to draw a picture of mommy.

The MAC (never heard of that brand before, probably not sold in my country) makeup came in the pre-patch, not in Eco Living, though. And to be honest, I've tried some of it, and I really like the more subtle ones. I only ever use 3 eyeliners, so won't use the new ones. I'll use a couple of colours of one lipstick, and the more neutral, not so out there eyeshadow. Oh almost forgot, I like 1 of the blushes too, although less than 5 % of my sims use blush. I hardly use makeup myself, just some eyeliner and mascara....maybe eyeshadow and lipstick once in a blue moon, on special occasions.

What I would love for makeup is more neutral, natural colours (especially for lipstick and eyeshadow), and a transparency slider. Many of the colours/combinations are really too tacky/bizarre/loud for me.

I agree. I haven't got the update yet but even without that, I prefer the natural look for my sims who wear makeup, so I very rarely use the brightly coloured eyeshadow or eyeliner.
  • Patch or pack, it still required someone's time to create. And it was an odd thing to include with a pack about eco living. I am aware a lot of players don't use CC so having more choices is important to them. But, in all honesty, I have to wonder if MAC is happy about the quality of what was created to advertise their cosmetics. I know I wouldn't be.
  • I like the lipsticks and the blusher. The eye make-up is too extravagant for everyday looks, it would be more suitable for runaway shows or magazine cover pictures, it will probably work well with the photography skill that came with Moshino pack.
