Is anyone else struggling with the excessive water drinking bug being back with a vengeance? Over the last few days, it's been really bad. Yesterday's game had all my sim's visitors getting glass after glass of water/juice, like one right after another. They were chain drinking like they'd just come from a long journey through the desert with no oases. Even Father Winter did it on Winter Fest Day. There were so many glasses left all over the house I'm surprised there were any left in the cupboard. It's like I'm playing a sims drinking game now. lolI'm just wondering if I should bother making another bug report or not.

If you feel it isn't fixed, then definitely make another bug report if one doesn't already exist: EA Answers HQI haven't noticed, but I also don't play with much autonomy enabled. I recall that in the past, the drinking got really bad after a week or two in-game. It is immersion breaking.

I play with full autonomy and I haven't noticed a change. However I did get the mod that gits them to finish drinking in three stages (same with eating) so I don't have to cancel any chatting their doing if I'm in a hurry to get them to do something. Don't have to cancel the eating or drinking either.

Yes, my sims have been doing the excessive water drinking lately too. It's so excessive and annoying, just constantly going to the sink. Hand washing happens a lot too when they aren't drinking water.

Yeah, a few weeks ago I was playing a household and turned autonomy on...and the water drinking went insane. Even MCCC wasn't enough to stop the madness. All I could do was turn the autonomy back off so that I could make the game playable again....Incidentally, TS4 is the only title I've played in the series where I feel like I have to turn autonomy off to make it playable, because the AI is so jacked and air-headed that if you want to coordinate anything resembling a household where sims are behaving anywhere near intelligently (not running for a glass of water when they have no need for water and their bladder is already near orange, waiting for a meal to be finished when someone is cooking a group meal instead of trying to cook something themselves while dinner is being made, etc.) you have to manually control all of your sims instead of being able to trust the AI with at least a few simple things. "Smarter sims" my behind...

I just disabled autonomy for all kinds of water drinking from sinks. If it says "get" or "grab" doesn't matter, the wording is different from the default Scan, and what the technical name is for the interaction. There is a button in the Scan to show the actual names. Might be easier to find what you're looking for. It says "show text/name" or something.

This is from my mc_tuner.cfg file (its 206 lines, so obviously I've made good use of the Tuner feature :D ):

Also added this for fridges:

You could copy them from here and paste in your own cfg-file, but I'm not sure I found every instance of water drinking in there. Might be just 2 from sinks, and the same for fridges.

The thing that blows me out of the water are Sims who are red-zone hungry and they go for a glass of water!

I actually keep the fridge stocked up on a variety of food now. As soon as they are done cooking and everyone who needs/wants to eat grabbed a serving, I put it in the fridge. The only real reason I would have more than one fridge is because only one sim at a time can grab a meal from it. If I have more than one fridge, then one anyone can access, but the others I limit either by locking the door to a room or someone claiming the fridge. Far more effective that way! I also put drinks in the fridge. Not water though, lol

There's 2 sinks right here. But he decides to run to the farthest sink away way over there for a glass of water! :D
Even the 2 sinks in the other trailer are closer! :p

No, I'm not having this problem. I use the SOL mod and sometimes a Sim will get dizzy due to dehydration, but it's up to me to send the Sim to get water.

The problem I do have is always one Sim in the household is a lush. Can't keep themselves away from that juice bar, or even the Globe bar, for that matter. Due to the SOL mod, I get an interesting moodlet as to what kind of 'condition' that Sim is under. Sloppy; flirty, Sad; Angry. I've been utilizing a feature in MCCC to remove the unwanted buff, and just discovered in this newest version of SOL, I can use a feature built in to remove the state of lush my Sim is in. :open_mouth: In my other game save, it was a bride-to-be. In the game save I'm currently playing, it's the Mom in one of the two households that's definitely got a problem when it comes to her juice addiction! LOL

Maybe instead of blocking it completely with a mod, there should be a reward trait like 'hardly hungry", "hardly thirsty"?
