It could have been an awesome feature, I agree. It's stupid that you can't have more than 2 sims take a picture and some of their poses are horrendous. I've had a good play using the tips above and got some great shots - it's inspired me a lot to think up fun ways of recording my Sims - I'm making a trophy room for my aristocratic family with imposing family portraits on the wall.
