The pros and cons of playing with aging on or off

I play with aging off because I simply hate the pressure of having to accomplish this and that before my sims age up. Also, normal lifespan is too short and Long lifespan is too long for me.

I just play with aging off and, when I feel like my sims are ready to age up, I turn aging on short lifespan (I could just age them by blowing candles, but I like the sims out of my household to age as well). Then I turn aging off again.
