hrm....I rather they upgraded Sims 2 than 4 but ok.
I don't. As much as I loved Sims2, and that love did NOT fade with the advent of Sims3, by the way. I have to say I like Sims4 the best at the moment. Now, if upgrading Sims2 meant we didn't have to shut off aging to keep our households around a lot longer, then maybe. Sims2 only allows for about 30 Sims days of life. Period. That's way too short to accomplish much in my eyes. But Sims4's CAS is far superior to either of it's predecessors. I say either meaning 2 & 3 because I never played the original and have no idea what CAS was like for that one.
The Toddlers are far superior, too, to those in 2 & 3. I would love to see an age level added, however. While I haven't minded the size of the teens as much as others have, it would be great to have those middle-schoolers (which is what the teens looked like in Sims3, in particular) prior to their aging up to 16, which is about what the teens look like in Sims4. It was very strange to watch a teen learn how to drive when they looked to be no more than12 years old. In most states, you can't get a permit to even begin to learn how to drive until age 15 1/2.
I live for the day when the game mechanics can allow for a gradual gain in height so that we can see them growing from a toddler, to a five year old on up to middle school 12-14 then a special birthday party — Sweet Sixteen. The male Sims could continue this gradual growth until they reach YA, for instance. I would also like to see the same for an infant. And not have baby tethered to the bassinet, which in real life most babies can't remain in much past three months of age! (EA team, please do your research.)
But, I seek the Moon, too. Who knows what the future may bring?
