I still play from time to time. Doesn’t mean I can’t find certain things about it unappealing and also doesn’t mean that I have to buy every single DLC pack.
Even the people who do actively play the game daily and buy every pack have something to say about it. A lot of Youtubers don’t do daily live mode gameplay as much as they used to with predecessor games. And videos critical of The Sims have become routine, whereas (even though it wasn’t my favorite compared to 2) it was rarer to see critical TS3 videos in comparison.

Agree, I do a lot of research on archived forum posts from 10-15 years ago and there is no denying that there was a lot of scepticism and even some criticism when the Sims 2 and the Sims 3 were announced and even when the games came out. However, this criticism often lessend or died down. I get the feeling that with the Sims 4 this has never stopped and I think there are valid resons behind it.
Also Plumbella's new hair colour is awesome.
