When one gets a new Windows computer/ Labtop, are we supposed to buy Sims 4 AGAIN?Got a new hp labtop with Windows 11 “Home in S Mode ”; Microsoft 365 And been trying to get Sims 4 on it… It’s like it expects me to buy Sims 4 ALL OVER again… I figured since I have a EA account with it and multiple packs previously bought I could easily just get Sims 4 on it… Thanks in advance…CM Edit: Title clarity

I installed the EA app through by going to the website. Never heard of S mode. I was able to log in and download the sims 4 again.But nowadays EA app always shows up with a blank library. you'll be able to download all of your Sims games from the EA app, but if you played on a PC, then you need to copy your saved games from the old PC and put them in your Sims folder on the new PC. Or, if your old PC crashed hopefully you saved them to the cloud or a stand alone backup.

I don't think buying it again will work. It's the app that's having the issue. I had problems with the sims 4 and the sims medieval on my new desktop, windows 11. It came with Norton anti virus, if that in your computer get rid of it. I downloaded the EA app from EA's site and had problems getting either game to run in my computer and the EA app was installed but not installed. I think the Norton anti virus had something to do with that. The EA app wouldn't open the normal way, I had to open it from the control panel. (instead of uninstalling I double clicked to open it, the files were in my computer but the app was being weird.)So I downloaded origin and ran it. I got the message that the EA app was the new game launcher and I let it install. That (origin) fixed the EA app and the sims 4 but not the sims medieval. You should be able to download your packs from the EA app. Did you use origin on your previous computer/laptop?

Disable S mode. It's far more trouble than any "security" it provides, because it will only let you install apps through the Windows Store, rather than 3rd party sites like EA.

(This is a regular thing in my Cricut group, because the only way to get the Cricut app is from the Cricut site, which Windows S mode won't let you do.)

Nope EA app should allow you to download all your games onto the new computer

unless you were playing on console before console has it separate and you can't play your pc stuff on console or your console stuff on pc

Yes, I did indeed have and use Origin on my previous labtop. Seemed like I had to use it to get into my sims games (3 & 4)

I had a problem with the ea app the other day that said my library was empty. Maybe try signing out of the ea app and signing in again. Also, rebooting your computer might cause it to show up. Sometimes that happens to me.

Check "Security Settings" It's been a while since I turned it off on my laptop. You should also be able to google it.

Well… No S Mode but.. EAappInstaller each time hits the SAME point, stops then I get an error message ? I’m cursed… I guess?

I thought maybe there was an error moving your packs from Origin to the EA app, but it sounds like the EA app is busted. Have you tried restarting your computer/checking for updates?
