The Sims 4 Bands

I was trying to make a girl group-band and assigned each Sim a different instrument. I was just wondering; do bands function similarly to the ones in The Sims 3?

    I'm probably in the minority of people who play this game, but I'd rather have sims join a band than do laundry.
