What you liked
I really liked the amped up interactions, especially when the sims went into different emotional states. That was very fun and a big step in the right direction.
Love how the building works
Love how the sims look and how goofy they are.
I'm excited to recreate these worlds since the ones made by the gurus are BORING! Can't wait to see what others create!
Love the gallery feature. I think this is a huge step up from Sims 3
What you didn't like
How come I can't simply walk over to my neighbor's house??? At least let Sims explore the neighborhood. I don't mind flitting from my neighborhood to the bar, but please let sims walk on over to the next door neighbors.
Both worlds are too small. I got bored after I went to each place. There's only four uninteresting buildings/places. I will have fun recreating everything, though. Looking forward to that.
Where is the coffee??? Maybe I just didn't see it, but I couldn't order coffee or an energy drink when my sim wanted to stay out late and party. I wanted to order that at the bar.
My sims do seem more real, so maybe I'm expecting too much from them, but sometimes when engaging in conversation, I had one sim jump up and go to the other side of the bed and converse while looking at a wall and the other sim was standing up on the other side of the bed. Weird. They do a lot of unnatural things, I think due to the multitasking option. I'm sure you'll figure out how to fix this.
Suggestions?
Let the Sims explore their world. I loved how my sim in sims 3 could look out in their world and see a vista, a mountain, a beautiful sunset (even in Midnight Gardens). I feel trapped in a closet--sort of like Sims 1.
Overall thoughts?
To me, this is just like what Final Fantasy did to its franchise. In FF12, we could explore the world, go anywhere in the beautiful areas, even if we weren't leveled up (and yeah, we'd die, but who cares? It was fun!) Then along came FF13 and they penned us into going from point A to point B. Sure the graphics were breathtaking, but I'd take crummier graphics if I can explore. That's what EA has done to the Sims. Penned us in. I hate that! I want my sim to be able to explore their world, even if it's in the next door neighbors backyard.
