I like the sims themselves. I love the art direction, the emotions, everything. They feel more alive than ever. The build mode is the best in the franchise as well. It's the best base game to date in my opinion. The foundation is there, we just need some Sims 2 quality expansions. But now for the things I don't like.
Not being able to build worlds from scratch from templates and then adding those worlds to my main game. This would help so much with the depressing number of lots since Sims can travel between base worlds. All we'd need is a little + beside the the two base worlds that takes us to some templates we can add and then build for. Seriously, you make the best build mode in the series and then not let us use it to our heart's content? Come on, now.
Speaking of build mode, let us have rooms of different heights instead of the whole floor being one height.
Next is the loading screens. I don't want a whole world loaded at once, that could cause issues definitely, but let us load whole neighborhoods together. My sims can go around the whole neighborhood but have to visit the lots separately? It's silly.
The services could be more. No firemen, police, repairmen, or even burglars?
I'd also just like restaurants, or more public lot types in general. The lounge, bar, and nightclub are all really the same thing. You're not kidding anyone and they're pointless because my sims can travel between worlds. There's no need for two gyms and two museums either because of it. I'd rather keep the ability to move between worlds, be able to build custom worlds, and have more lot types so I have more of a reason to go to those worlds.
Friendships feel hard to keep. I'm doing the musician career type and every time I need to get a ton of friends I find that all of my current friends are no longer my friends anymore making me have to do a ridiculous amount of more work and spamming socialization. It's not fun.
Overall, it's the best entry in the series. I really mean that, but there are so many little things that are infuriating because they feel like steps backwards when the rest of the game is moving forward.
