Okay, so I've had the game 3 days now and I'm still not sure if I have played enough to have a definite feeling about this game. I've played the sims from the beginning, I've had every EP and SP available and spent a lot of time and money admiring the work the creators do. This new game offers a few new possibilities but for the most part I find myself realizing more of what it doesnt have versus what it does.
WHAT I LIKE
- Emotions: Gives each sim character and allows me to relate more to how they feel and what I should do next to continue making them feel a certain way or changing that mood. Very fun.
-Multitasking: YESSSSS, im all for this. awesome idea, love it.
- Build/Buy Mode: I like the organization and the ease of switching between the two. Although there are still MANY downfalls....(later mentioned)
- CAS: Soooooo awesome. Its very easy and gives you the opportunity to create ANYONE! Love it. Although again, it has downfalls.
- High Walls: As a builder, I love it. Especially the choice of arranging pictures on the wall high to low (I need moveobjects on to work tho!!)
-Careers: I love the objectives with each promotion, keeps it interesting and challenging.
WHAT I DIDNT LIKE
-EDGESCROLLING/CAMERA: fix that ish.... wtf yall?! I finally found how to tilt, but seriosuly, fix it.
-No open world: WTF?!?!? I get they think the load and gameplay is better but I NEVER had a problem with TS3, It made the game so much more exciting, never having to wait, feeling like you could do anything and go anywhere. It was hands down one of my favorite parts of the sims.
- No cars, pools, basements, toddlers, etc.: Basic things we got on the core games before are missing, not sure why. Feels like im playing a demo i paid $70 for. Makes no sense unless they are now just trying to get us to spend more money on things we should have already had. Unfortunately this factor is really making me rethink in investing in this company. Change that.
- No color wheel/patterns: This is another major downfall for me. Creativity is my favorite part. Making one house completely different than all others. The possibilities were endless and why they would decide to go without such a perfect feature is mind boggling.
-Crashes: I seem to get stuck on loading screens a lot and I have a high performance computer. So its not me.
- Loss of situation dialogue: I loooooved that when a sim got a promotion or someone cleaned/cooked you could talk to your other sim about it. I miss having different dialogue that makes it seem like the sims arent always talking about the same old things.
Babies- Theyre back to square one, again, when you make a fourth version which should be better why downgrade? NO SENSE!!
-No control: when they go to work you cant see their needs or build relationships. LAME.
-Neighborhood: NOTHING to do. Rabbit holes were better than this. Two empty lots...come on... Four community lots.... come on... no schools, hospitals, tattoo palors, restaurants... come one. (EPs maybe?) eh.
LOCKED OBJECTS: I feel like im being forced to play the game a certain way just to have a clock... come on now. If i could unlock it for every household... maybe id tolerate it. but No. each household needs to unlock it. TAKE IT AWAY, please :)
Seems to be more bads than goods. As a supporter of the Sims and a dedicated player for years Im sticking with it and hoping that somehow change will come, whether the next EP fixes all the basics and add even more, Ill pay. But if not, Im afraid ill lose interest and no longer have passion for my favorite game of all time :(
