Sims is worth 2 stars without more content.
The world is dead and everything is introverted. With the primary objective being socialization and work while motives are easily managed the game can quickly become pointless. I've used the awesome build system to quickly build myself an epic place but there's nothing to do with it! The interactions are limited to "base level" content. The parties aren't as fun and without pools or even hot tubs you can really sense a difference when ever you open up the build to add more content to your party room.
Unfortunately I feel like EA has gotten me good. Got the $90 version and it's definitely not worth that much. On top of that, I feel that the only thing that I have left to do on Sims 4 is wait for expansions or just start over. Ultimately I'm going to finish ALL CAREERS but the only thing stopping me is that in my free time I'm getting bored to tears. The bars suck, the world is small and there's no novelties to interact with in the mean time. After I fill my fun, which takes about 30 mins in game (a couple of seconds in real life) and done the routine of eat > pee > shower then I'm done for the day. I've got a partner in game that is also progressing through a career for the unique art stuff for my "vault". So I'm really dying to collect all the neat stuff in the game but at the same time, the days without work, you're just sitting in your home for days on end toying around with your erratic mood swings or ignoring the persistent flow of 'whims' and hitting the bar instead which was good simulation based fun for the first 3 times only. So the reason I think EA has gotten me and is ripping me off in a very clever way is because now that I know all I'm lacking is whacky content like weather, party items, supernaturals, adventures, STUDENT LIFE and (what looks to be: Career based adventures/missions) w/e ... it's almost like I'm hopping they release DLC. Which is annoying man, what the hell are game designers turning into these days???
