What I like:
- The emotions. Though they can be tedious, they do give some more depth to the sims.
- The interactions between child and adults. It makes it more realistic.
- The traits - assuming there will be more coming in future expansions
- The graphics. I am happy it's no longer uncanny valley and that they do look a little bit more cartoonish.
- The content so far. I know that many are disgruntled with the poor content, but this is a basegame. For me; this is only to be expected.
- The scenery. It is BEAUTIFUL. Many screenshots has been just of scenery, especially in the tumblr community. You nailed that one, EAxis.
- Different bars for friend and romantic. It makes it more realistic.
- The fact that you can change aspirations and that the aspiration has several layers to it.
- I love CAS and don't mind the lack of CASt. It wreaked havoc on my gaming rig, even though it should be absolutely fine to handle it.
- I like that the sims are more interactive with each other and that the outcome of social interactions can be unpredictable at times.
- How they are able to get more done during the day and night, without falling dead asleep on the floor at 8 in the night.
- I love the whims. More realistic than the wants.
- Love the new build/buy mode. And the search bar.
- I love the babies, even though people complain that they are just "objects" - I don't really mind it. Better having a basinette than leaving your baby ouside all night.
- The game in general - it's just so different and not what I had expected. It's like a mixture of Sims 2 and 3, without the creepy look from sims 3 and the lag, but with more enchanted and thought through graphics and interactions. I don't really mind the loading screens, I get why you did it, but at the same time...
What I don't like:
-...The fact that you need a loading screen to visit your neighbor. I haven't even tried to visit ayone just because it feels like a chore. It feels a little like a step-back.
- What happened to the family tree? I think it's a REALLY important part of the game, and always has been - even for those who do not play legacies. It's just crucial to know who is who and everything in the game. I'm really disappointed that this is gone. That might be the biggest pet peeve in the game for me, to be honest.
- Too few lots in the neighborhoods, and some of them feel quite limited at times.
- The other HUGE thing that bugs me is the lack of different heights between teens and adults. It makes it all very confusing and I have to spend hours looking for a teenager boy/girlfriend for my sims, or a mate for my Young Adult without spending time trying to hit on kids.
- My friends and I run a legcy tumblr together ( www.tumblr.com/blog/bitchesbesimming - pardon the title, it's an inside joke), and we all feel that there should be more facial expressions. I also don't care for the fact that they are slouching over as soon as they come home from work and school. I get it. You're tired. But I chose a walk for you for a specific reason, and I rarely get to see it.
- No story progression. It's sad when you kick out someone and they don't continue living their life. They are just existing in your world, without love or family or anything. They just are wandering about.
- What is with the homeless sims? I'm not sure I'm getting it.
- The UI is kind of... Poorly developed, since everything is kind of scattered around.
- We need more careers. And we need to be able to see the needs while they are at work to be able to NOT have them come home tense and mega tense and have negative moodlets.
All in all, I don't regret buying it. I have been a simmer for over 13 years now and a programmer, so I get why things are done a certain way. There are some things I dont't really understand yet, and there is more for me in this game to explore. I wish desperately for a family tree so there would be a more logical float to the game, and not just having them listed as parents or siblings in the social tab. I like the game and have played it for 47 hours, because it keeps on surprising me and making me laugh, which I really appreciate. I like that it's not bloatware with thousands and thousand glitches yet (although none of my sims have been able to gain/lose weight), and that this game is more focused on the emotions and not locking them down to fulfill their aspirations. It needs more careers though, and I miss the cars, altough in Sims 3 they were redundant to me because carpool kept showing up even though they had multiple cars. I like this game and will continue playing it - with flaws and all. It's just a mere suggestion that you bring the family tree back, and maybe the height difference between adults and teenagers. It just gets confusing.
