I know it's a tough one to swallow for all of you 32 bits people, but we gamers also have to understand that our hobby is tied to an expensive platform and that if it isn't updated, we get limitations. EA is moving ahead just like the rest of the gaming industry, it is simply the way it goes - onwards. I know it's a bother and hassle for Simmers who play only Sims, but even if you personally only play Sims, our game is a part of a bigger whole and is moving with it. I don't mean to seem insensitive, but we do need to realize that this hobby is costly in terms of platforms (heck, mine was close to $3000). We can't play this fancy game on cheap equipment, and development isn't going to halt because some of us have pockets that aren't very big. Time to see Sims 4 for what it is and seperate it from wishful thinking. I'm sorry if I offend anyone with this.
