The Sims 4 worlds per real life continent

Now with the adition of Forgoten Hollow I could say than we have the 3 main continents:

Europe
Windenburg
Forgoten Hollow

America
Willow Creek
Oasis Springs
Newcrest
Magnolia Promenade
Granite Falls

Asia
San Myshuno

I hope than Werewolves GP or Witches GP add another european world

A name like Windenberg (sic?) reminds me of Brandenburg (I've been watching LPs of EUIV so I know a bit about old-timey nation names) or the fictional Brennenberg (been watching a lot of Amnesia LPs as well) I get a 'Charlie and the Choco Factory 71' vibe when I look at the houses. And yeah; there's no point in bringing national superiority into this thread. That's only going to cause trouble.

good ideas :) personally I'm hoping for an Australian city next.

I was just thinking Oasis Springs reminded me of the Outback or something. :D

Oh, you mean the ugly dogboxes.
They've got a bad reputation for being low quality houses, and not at all designed for Australian weather.

I see your point, although as an Australian, Oasis Springs just feels too American to me (of course, none of the worlds in TS4 are definitively based on any real life places, so if you imagine Oasis Springs to be in the Australian desert, then that is where it is in your game  ).

That said, I definitely would like to see a TS4 world that looks like a rural Australian town. Though rural Australia varies wildly in appearance, from desert, to grassland, to rainforest, to temperate mountains.

(Off the top of my head, the movie The Dressmaker is an excellent representation of a rural Australian town in the desert, in my opinion)

Ah yes, I see what you mean.

You're right, those houses are kinda common, but more so around cities, in newly developed areas. Most small, rural towns in Australia tend to be around 100 or so years old, and the houses tend to be just as old. They're weatherboard houses that generally have had an extension or two added on to them as time has gone on. And the buildings lining the main street of the town I grew up in where mostly brick buildings from around the 1920s/1930s, which house the shops/pubs/cafes, etc. Very few houses were modern like the one in the picture, except for where someone has had enough money to knock down and rebuild rather than renovate the old weatherboard house.

    Please stop with the patriotism....

    1. Don't tell me what to do.
    2. There's nothing wrong with being patriotic.
    3. I was born and live in England so how can I be being patriotic?

1, This thread was not about which country is the best
2 Patriotism is the habit to be overly emotionally bonded to a random plot of land you were born in and this is bad
    3. Who wanted to hear your opinion though

Don't be rude to me. You will come off worst, TRUST ME. Patriotism is "having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one's country" so what I expressed can't be patriotism as I'm not an American. Being proud of your country or being devoted to it is not bad, no matter what the PC brigade want you to think. So byeeee.

    I agree

I don't believe there was any real life continent, country, or city depicted here. It's a combination of many, making it unlike any specific place on Earth. Yes, all neighborhoods copy some American (North and South), some Asian, some European, some Middle Eastern, some Australian, and some African areas, all rolled into one. They're similar to many places, but no one specific place.

Same with Forgotten Hollow. No one specific place, but in this case, a combination of past and present ideas of what it should be like to harbor Vampires. Use your imagination as they did and enjoy it.

Many of the ideas here were taken from movies. Does anyone really think Forks, Washington was always conducive to fog or whatever certain weather needed according to the Twilight movies? Did you forget about special effects? Yeah, maybe you think Vampires now prefer Forks, WA instead of Transylvania? LOL.

    so true

I'd love a world/neighborhood based on Scandinavia, perhaps a good time to add some IKEA looking furniture

As a Scandinavian it makes me really sad that you say Ikea furniture, Scandinavia has some of most awsome furniture designers. IKEA is what you endure until you have enough money to buy proper furniture B)

TS2 had an IKEA stuff pack back in the day. I think TS4 would benefit from a place of lots surrounded by mountains. Something breathtaking.
