I'm actually quite happy that they did not go full theme park with this pack. I'd much rather have the Star Wars universe exist in my game as opposed to having Disney exist in my game. Personal preference, as it feels at least slightly less corporate because we won't be sending our sims off just to buy in-game Disney merchandise. This way, it is still technically a new amazing scifi world. and not a Real World Disney Park that would be an even more intense advertisement for the real thing. More intense than it already is.
Also, this actually fits in very nicely with the base-game Space Smuggler/Space Ranger jobs our sims can aspire to. So for me, it makes a lot of sense to do it this way and give us a world, star wars themed or otherwise, that lets us actually have playable equivalents of those career paths.
If we do get theme park content, which would be nice, I'd prefer it to be more generic. If this pack was a theme park, I'd assume the rides would be Star Wars themed, which I don't want. I'd want my theme parks to be either more generic or even more versatile than that. They could have made different skins for rides I suppose, but still, I'm much happier this way.
If it turns out that this pack actually IS a theme park pack, or maybe even a Live Action Role Play pack, (which would be more fascinating than the theme park method, in its own way) that hides itself well as a scifi pack, then so be it. Ultimately it's not going to change my opinion of it too much, because every pack appeals to different people for different reasons.
