They eloped!
My two sims were engaged and while I was off playing with someone else in the same household I got a notification that they were exchanging vows! Thanks for the invite guys!

I honestly think that if this was happening as a result of game code changes, it wouldn't be the first report of it 23 days after a large patch and 10 days after a smaller one. Also worth noting that this isn't a report about rotational play, from the description: it's the active household, so if there is an issue, it's autonomous action not story progression (still a problem if it's game-code-based, but not rotational-play-specific). Hoping the OP comes back to see my previous question.

I'm not so sure it is going to be a glitch. People thought autonomous woo-hoo was a glitch just to find out it's a feature. It would not surprise me at all if this (if true) is intended.
I personally do not want story progression on my played sims (the ones in my rotation), I could care less what my townies do with their lives, I just would like to see options in the settings panel. For me there is a big difference between higher autonomy (sims tending to their garden on their own or jogging around the neighborhood) and sims getting married, or having woohoo for the first time (SP).

This is the way I see it too. There's a big difference between autonomous gardening and piano playing vs auto-proposal. And I don't want that happening with any of my sims.
@ChelleJo I can see what you are saying about auto-proposal and being in love and seizing the moment, but for me, I have some sims couples dating right now who have very strong romantic relationships, but they are dating. I don't know for sure whether they will actually end up as couples in my game yet or not. I really don't want the game deciding it for me.

I can understand that. With me, I tend to do the "fall in love at first sight" and "marry high school sweethearts" a lot. That is where I think that. But I can see with couples just dating and not ready to settle down that auto anything (Proposal or marriage) would be a major buzz kill.

I can see they ve added some story progression.
