The sims team has given a lot of things we asked for. The most obvious for me were pools and toddlers.
On top of what has already been mentioned (sorry if I overlooked and repeat something by accident)
- more stairs options (no spiral staircase but configurable
- terrain tools
- horses
- building apartments
- standing photo frames (after the strangerville trailer)
- upgrading beds
- more kitchen appliances
