Exactly. I was wondering the same thing while reading this! Like, REALLY? People get upset because there's no toilet in the bathroom, or there's a big unfurnished room in a house in the game? Wow.
I think it has more to do with the sloppy feeling it gives the player.
I love building houses too and almost always replace everything, anyway. But if I were not interested in that, I would prefer to have both functional and nice-looking ones to move my Sims into from the get-go. I honestly never understood why all the starter/cheaper houses looked so drab and grey.
Having seen more reviews of this game pack, I would also feel upset to learn that the trailer park is just decorative items once I started playing.
