Things You Didn't Know!

@EgonVM  wow thank you for your regular insights.  I am going to have to try the basking in horse bravery.  No matter how many hours played each day, there is always something new to be learned.  I’m still sometimes learning fun facts about Sims 2 and 3 and I’ve been playing them a lot longer than sims 4.  I’d love to see the previous sims be updated and re-released.  I’d be right up at the front of the line purchasing them so I’m able to play sims 1 and 2 easily again.

It is a very helpful tip about the Bask in Horse Bravery interaction @EgonVM 🙂 It is great to know that it will remove all fears.

This is probably old news to most people. I didn't know dogs will eat the feed sims leave out for their chickens. I never actually saw my sim's dog eat the feed. Then I saw this...

At a distance I thought it was the little piles of feed. I thought it was odd. She never puts the feed there. When I got closer I saw what it actually was. That would explain why she had to put down more feed lately. This was my odd 'learn something new everyday' moment.😃 

So then, I am slowing down a little with these fun facts unfortunately.

But here's a fun fact on burn-out.

Mental traits (like Genius) slow down Mental burn-outs while creative traits (like Creative) slow down Creative burn-outs.

But what if your sim already has burn out?

Well, here are some activities that help with both mental and creative burn outs:

• Crafting an outstanding object.
• Quitting the current job.
• Complaining about burnout.
• Taking a vacation.
• Taking it easy at work.
• Being in good mood.

It is not good when sims have burn out @EgonVM ☹️  It is helpful to know activities that will help with it as well as certain traits.

Fun fact in slowed down fashion!

Did you know that there are two traits that replace Best Friend relationship status? These are:

• Bro
• Evil

If both of the sim have that trait, their best friend status gets renamed to something else (under spoilers so you can find out).

So yeah, that's a fun detail.

That is a great fun fact to learn of @EgonVM 🙂 It is great that there is a change in the status when best friends with each other, and can encourage sims to be best friends with others that have these same traits. 

A fun fact/reminder for those making their own NPC sims.

Island Elementals are generated with Death by Old Age trait.

Why is it important to remember?

Well, if you ask an Island Elemental to move in, they'll no longer be a ghost. This is as Death by Old Age and Ghost Risen traits are removed.

So, when you make an Island Elemental with another death type trait (let's say for example Death by Cowplant) and then ask them to move in, they'll still be a ghost.

It is helpful information for simmers to know who are making those types of sims @EgonVM so that they remain a ghost. 🙂

So then... Did you know that some factors affect how likely is your pet to get sick.

These things will increase the chance of your pet getting sick:

• Eating spoiled food
• Having Lazy trait
• Being an elder

However, if the pet has exercised recently, they are less likely to become sick.

If you give a pet a Wellness Treat or the Cone of Shame, they are temporarily immune to any illness.

In addition, ghost pets and Servos (I don't know why that had to be specified) cannot be sick. Kittens and puppies are also immune.

So yeah, my recommendation is that when you have to visit a vet, buy some Wellness Treats after getting your pet treated.

Your information is very helpful in doing things that can help to prevent our sims pets from being sick @EgonVM . It is not very nice seeing the pets sick ☹️

So then, on the topic of log-in rewards...

So then, the engagement system introduced this feature since Eco Lifestyle: if you move too fast, the proposal will be rejected with a special message.

However, it turns out that:

1. This only comes into play after the first kiss (as the message does say "We just shared our first kiss"). This means that if you use other interactions to skip the first kiss part, you can speedrun the marriage. You can get that first kiss after the proposal. Better yet, the kiss that happens when sims get married also counts as their first kiss.
2. If your sims did have their first kiss, then you'll have to wait 6 hours after that. Proposing during that time will get your sim rejected. The relationship bit that does that is hidden, so you'll have to check the time. If you didn't, the next day it'll always be ok to propose.

So yeah, that's how you strategize around this system.

It is good for simmers to know how long to wait before proposing, so they don’t get rejected @EgonVM . It would be very sad for them if they were rejected when excited to propose ☹️

The Video Station can be used by 2 sims at once. One can record videos while the other edits.

It is a great helpful tip about the trash and the bonfire @simgirl1010 🙂 It is great to know that.

It is great to know that 2 sims can use the video station at the same time @Aceeee82 🙂 It would be a great thing for friends or family members to enjoy doing together.

Haven't had my sim be invited there either lately.

Took a look into tuning files. It seems like it can be made by a friend not in the household at around 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM. They also mustn't have any negative sentiments.

I'll have to see it closer. It might also be that there are other drama nodes that get chosen (and there can be a lot of them), but I'm not sure about that...
