Did you ever play Sims2? We had cars in that game. Since Sims4 is far more reminiscent of Sims2, I wouldn't rule out cars altogether. Yes, the thought bubble car has been in since launch, but that doesn't preclude it as a hint, necessarily. We'll just have to content ourselves with what we have in game, for now.
